Parents Page.

Parents, guardians and carers are the most important and influential people in a child's life.

As a parent, you play a key role in shaping your child's sporting experience. Research shows that positive parental behaviour greatly encourages children's participation in sport, levels of success and fun when playing.

We've created The Parents Page so we can share information on the importance of positive parental behaviour within sport. We've included info on The Player, Parent, Coach Relationship, sporting guides for you to follow and help improve your Sporting Parent Style and our Code of Conduct & Safeguarding Policy.

Our Aim is to :

  • Encourage regular sport participation for both parent & player

  • Create an environment where every player has the opportunity to reach their full potential

  • Get parents volunteering within the club

  • Give parents the support they need to improve their parent sporting style

  • Ensure parents are aware of their role within their child's sporting experience

The Athletes Triangle.

The relationship between player, coach and parent is known as the Athletes Triangle.

This social system is crucial to a player's development as it functions both as a source of education and support.

Health Inequality (12).png

In order to create an environment where players are able to learn and achieve at the highest level, players, coaches and parents must have a clear understanding of their role within the triangle and strive to work together in partnership, with transparency and with respect.

It's been shown that conflict and animosity has a significant negative impact on a players sporting experience. To avoid this situation, both coaches and parents must understand one another's expectations and be proactive in establishing a positive relationship.

Player Responsibility.

The player has a responsibility to take control of their sporting journey by committing to being the best they can be at all times and by working with their coach to learn how to adopt the mindset of an athlete.

Duty To Coach

Exhibit good sportsmanship at all times Listen & follow the coaches instruction, be open to learn and make improvements Work with the coach to learn how to take responsibility for individual performance Always give the best effort in training sessions and at matches Set attainable goals & maintain a commitment level that is consistent with reaching those goals Communicate concerns to the coach  Each player MUST follow the club's Code of Conduct

We want all parents to be involved in every aspect of their child’s journey throughout the club. Understanding your role within the Athletes Triangle and learning how to model appropriate sporting behaviour is crucial to each players development.

Creating a positive, fun and inclusive environment is ideal for players to grow to learn, develop skills and most importantly enjoy the game.
